Comfort

Summer is almost over. Some schools have already started back.  Do you still have children at home as well as caregiving?  I want to ask a question this month and welcome comments.  My in-laws lived across the street from us for over 20 years.  They have both graduated to heaven, one in 2003 and one in 2007, and my husband has finally decided we should put the house on the market.  I have spent the last several months cleaning it out and distributing everything to anyone I could find. I gave several truckloads to Goodwill, some to our church's Clemson University International Student ministry, our local Wilderness Boy's Camp, our children, our home, and several loads to the dump.

I was surprised at how emotional I have been, considering it has been 5 years since it has been occupied.  As I write this, I am fighting the tears, but knowing the God of all comfort and knowing they are with the Lord and I will see them again.

If you know of someone who has finished their caregiving journey, no matter how long ago...take a moment today to send them a note, email or phone to let them know you still think of them and remember them in prayer.

Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted".
