Diet and Exercise

Diet and exercise are common topics every January. We need to eat, drink, and stay fit in order to fulfill our tasks at maximum capacity. Exercise increases our endorphins—our feel-good hormones. It not only improves our physical stamina but also our emotional stamina. "What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). 

The reason for maintaining a healthy diet, portion control, and regular exercise is to glorify God in our actions and attitudes. We need to remember to take care of ourselves in the process of caring for others. We need to make time for some intentional exercise, at least thirty minutes a day, even if we have to break it up into three ten-minute sessions. God’s desire for us is to not just endure our trials, but to lean on Him and trust Him with our lives and the lives of our loved ones as each trial manifests itself in 2014!
