Caregiving – What a journey! Over the course of your life, you go from being cared for…to caring only for yourself…to caring for others…to being cared for again. This life journey can be confusing. Who is in charge? Who knows best? When do I cease being told what to do? When do I cease telling others what to do? As we travel life’s journey, there comes a time when as a senior adult, our opinions and experiences are no longer sought after. We must come to terms with NOT giving our ‘two cents worth’ in every situation. Unasked for advice, is unwanted advice. If we understand our role, the tension between generations will greatly diminish. Our greatest asset is prayer and contentment! Be ready to help but wait to be asked! God will give grace for every phase of your journey!
Eph 6:1, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.”
Eph 6:2a, “Honour thy father and mother…”
Eph 6:18, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
